I just realized it's been well over a year since I posted anything to my blog. It's been one of many casualties of my busy writing schedule.
While I'm not sure it's going to turn me into a prolific blogger, I'm happy to say I just turned in book 6 of the Game On series, which will be released this fall, and I'm doing a final edit of The Crisis Companion: From Flash of Two Worlds to Infinite Earths, my monumental book on the comic book maxi-series Crisis on Infinite Earths (1985). It includes a survey of how DC's multiverse was created, why the powers that be felt they needed do away with it through Crisis, a detailed commentary on the maxi series itself, and reflections on its legacy. I'm super excited about this book, which will be released by TwoMorrows Publishing in time for the 2026 San Diego Comic Con. And for the first time ever, I hope to be there in person to sign copies. As for what's next, I'm debating between four projects. One is a non-fiction book on storytelling that I've been developing for years while teaching on that very topic (and half of which is already written). Another is Cosmic Christmas, book 9 of the Milligan Creek series where the boys attempt to stage a Christmas play, with hilariously diastrous results. The third is Teeth, book 3 in my Uncanny Icons series about some glow-in-the-dark vampire teeth that accidentally resurrect the king of the undead. The final one is another non-fiction book about comic books, this one focusing on Alan Moore's legendary run on Swamp Thing. Before I embark on any of those projects, though, I'm going to take a short vacation in Hawaii with my oldest daughter. Some body surfing, snorkeling, hiking, loco moco, and a few poke bowls should help clear my brain well enough to determine my next steps.

Hi Kevin, my 8 year old absolutely loves the Game On series. We just finished Book 4 "Game On! totally Tilted" and we're sad to end on a cliffhanger. I see from your blog post this summer that Book 6 of the Game On Series is due out this fall. Any idea where we can purchase book 5? I can't seem to find it anywhere and my son is dying to see what happens with Wyatt and the gang. Thanks for your help and thanks for writing such an enjoyable series for kids (and parents)
